Love Our Nation was founded in 2013 by Ms. Ovrill Dwyer and a group of community leaders determined to give youth in Dania Beach and Broward County a safe place to learn, grow and be loved.
From one garden to a full afterschool home
Love Our Nation has served the Dania Beach community since 2015, offering all programs free of charge. It began with the Earth 2 Table gardening program at C. W. Thomas Community Center and The Dania Beach PATCH, then expanded into an afterschool safe zone with homework assistance from volunteer tutors, health and nutrition, dance and wellness, financial literacy, golf classes and field trips that offer new experiences.
As a nonprofit, Love Our Nation is funded through the generous support of local volunteers, a limited donor base, and in-kind donations, allowing us to offer every program to youth and families completely free of charge.

Ms. Ovrill Dwyer
Ms. Dwyer started Love Our Nation in 2013 with a simple belief: every child deserves a mentor, a meal and a place to belong. She leads daily programming and keeps the promise that students are treated like family, not numbers.
Community leaders & volunteers
Our board, program coordinators and volunteer tutors are neighbors, parents, educators and retirees from Dania Beach and greater Broward County who give their afternoons to our students.
